Abstract

|
Drinking and smoking present very similar descriptions of the phenomenology of their disorders. Often the alcohol industry is compared to the cigarette industry. Both industries are often called upon to defend the legitimacy of their products. In Korea, we have a powerful cigarette control policy in the name of the National Health Promotion Act. On the other hand, we have little government intervention at the level of alcohol policy.
From the social welfare perspective, the charge of the health promotion fund in alcohol is essential to reduce alcohol related problems.
